From the back of a horse, view the majestic Gros Ventre Wilderness and breathtaking views of the Teton Mountain Range. While taking in the serenity of the famous Snake River and numerous wildflowers, keep your eyes open for various wildlife in their natural habitat. Horses are well mannered, strong, and mountain wise. We invite all levels of riding ability.
Following your ride, join the Mad River guides for an exhilarating ride down the whitewater of the Snake River Canyon. Grab a paddle and head down the river for a trip you will remember for a lifetime.
Details: Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes for your horseback ride. You'll want to bring your rafting gear with you since you'll go straight to rafting after your ride. For rafting, you'll want synthetic clothing - bathing suits and athletic wear is generally best. You'll need footwear in the raft, so shoes that can get wet that will not fall off your feet are the best option. We do have wetsuits and booties available for rent, should you need it upon your arrival.
Meet at the corral at 9am for a half day ride winding through the trees up to a ridge with stunning views.
Head over to the Mad River boathouse by 1:30 for a 2pm departure for rafting. Return back to the boathouse at around 5:30pm
Lunch is not included, so you'll want to pack your own lunch or ask Mad River to have lunch waiting for you upon your arrival at the Mad River Boathouse. It is an extra charge of $5 per person. If you would like a deli lunch, please request this when you make your reservation.
